Site Reliability Engineer III

Premera Blue Cross is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer III for its Mountlake Terrace, Washington office.

Job Duties: 

Maintain operational coverage of cloud-based platforms with a focus on improving automation, scale, process, data collection, and visibility into production health and reliability. Build, run, and optimize critical services in a complex heterogeneous environment (managed services on premise and cloud, custom built applications and service on-premise and cloud, and third party integrations). Learn and enhance existing tools and develop new tools at scale that reduce manual intervention, enhance prevention, detection, and mitigation of service impacts. Configure, design, and script end-to-end service telemetry, alerting, and self-healing capabilities for platforms. Author functional and technical documentation. Collaborate across engineering to drive operational health improvements, root cause analysis, post-incident discussions and their associated remediation that serve to improve reliability and scale operations. Work closely with the security team to ensure the safety and security of deployment processes. Influence and collaborate across engineering to bring best practices, system architectures, standards, and methods for a complex heterogeneous environment. Participate in the 'on-call' rotation. Telecommuting permitted.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, employer will accept two (2) additional years of experience.

Experience Requirements: Three (3) years of experience in each of the following:

• Cloud experience (Azure preferred)
• Experience automating using CI/CD tools. 
• Windows and Linux experience
• Experience developing infrastructure, configuration, and deployment scripting and automation for business and customer facing services in a micro service environment

Salary: $190,486 to $190,486 per year
