Patient Access Specialist - Admitting
at Prisma Health
7 p.m.-3:30 a.m., includes weekends

Obtains quality demographic and financial information for customers entering the facility. Point of Service Collections are made consistently when appropriate. Performs quality assurance to assure prompt payment of patient bills.

Quality of Work – Quality of data obtained and entered is complete and accurate. The average year to date quality review score must be at least ninety-seven percent (97%) or above. Screens uninsured/underinsured patients for financial assistance utilizing Prisma Health Compassionate Care policies.
Point of Service Collections – Collection efforts should be made and results documented into the patient's account. Cash handling includes but is not limited to – accepting payments, posting payments, receipts, daily control logs, deposit slips and safe guarding of money.
Service Excellence – Customer service efforts should exceed guest expectations while maintaining attention to detail. Maintains a positive, cooperative attitude at all times – adhering to all Friendliness policies.
Attendance – Adheres to departmental Attendance Policies – which includes, but it not limited to clocking in and out appropriately, timely submission of requests for time off, proper notification of absence and punctuality.
HIPAA and Compliance – Adheres to Prisma Health HIPAA and Compliance policies ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Communication – Communicates in a professional manner at all times with patients, visitors, co-workers, medical staff and ancillary departments. Promotes open lines of communication within and outside the department.
Teamwork – Acts as a team member. Supports and promotes team efforts and activities in a positive and productive manner.
Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
Experience: At least 2 years of related experience.

Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: None
Special Training: Must be able to think analytically, manipulate numbers and have computer knowledge and skills, CRT experience, medical terminology, must have excellent communication skills. At the discretion of the managers, data entry test must be at least ninety (90%) percent accurate and seventy (70) key strokes per minute.
