Full-time FTE 0.9 -1.0


8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., includes weekends and on call

BLS for Healthcare Providers required

Job Summary:

This job provides physical therapy services. Participates in operational and clinical functions of department, hospital and corporation. Complies with laws & regulations of appropriate state and federal agencies and guidelines of JCAHO. Participates in the education of staff, students (1-2 per year) and volunteers by sharing responsibility for both the number of requests and quality of feedback from participants. Provides in services on clinical education attended.

Encourages positive relations through appropriate verbal and written communication with supervisors and all other customers. Takes the initiative to actively assist, without prompting.


Participates in other patient care and departmental/professional activities as requested/assigned including but not limited to presenting/attending in-services, performance improvement, program development/evaluation, new employee orientation, committee membership, peer review and attending staff meetings.

Demonstrates proficient clinical care in primary work area. Clinical practice reflects critical thinking skills, communication skills and safe clinical practice in developing treatment plans within a specific patient focus. Cross covers within work setting.


Participates in PI activities by maintaining acceptable level of personal achievement and assisting with data collection and analysis to include patient care documentation that is concise, pertinent, and meets the profession's and department's documentation standards.

Demonstrates technical and clinical competency according to department/organization/professional standards by the demonstration and articulation of sound clinical reasoning in synthesizing complex evaluation data identifying diagnosis and developing a comprehensive plan of care.


Serves as a good steward of the institution's resources, including time on the job.

Works cooperatively with supervisors and peers to contribute to the overall productivity of the team and maintains a high level of individual productivity.


Participates with program development and implementation as determined by departmental needs.


Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Physical Therapy required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Experience: No previous experience required.

Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Licensed by SC Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. Current BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) required prior to start date directly through the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or the military. (To register: Blended Learning or In Person BLS through the American Red Cross; or Classroom or Skills Session BLS through the American Heart Association. Certification must include an in-person skills session.)

Special Training: Demonstrates clinical competency based on patient's age; Prefer computer competency.
