Hiring Wage Depends on Experience.

The 2020 pool season is fast approaching which is an exciting time for the City of Richland.  The City's Parks and Recreation division is looking for well-qualified candidates to fill our Aquatics Head Lifeguard positions for the 2020 pool season.  Aquatics Head Lifeguard's assist the Aquatics Pool Manager by performing support work for a variety of aquatic recreation activities, programs, events, facility needs, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under moderate supervision of the Parks and Recreation Coordinator or designee (supervisor).

 Minimum Qualifications:

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) – If WSI certification is expired, it must be renewed within upcoming pool season to be considered for this position option.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Prior experience as a Lifeguard.
 Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous mentoring, or similar experience.
  • Previous public pool experience, preferably with the City of Richland.
  • Previous Head Lifeguard, Assistant Pool Manager, or similar experience.

 Supplemental Information:

Final selection will be made based on qualifications and an interview process.  In addition, final candidate(s) selected will be required to successfully complete and pass a comprehensive background/reference check commensurate to the position.
