  • Overview

    Perform maintenance and repairs of trucks, trailers, refrigeration and support equipment to ensure equipment is ready and available for deliveries.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify repairs to be made to heavy duty class 8 vehicles by visual inspection and by utilizing electronic troubleshooting.
    • Perform preventative maintenance to tractors, trailers, vans and refrigeration engines.
    • Respond to road calls to repair equipment that has become inoperable during product delivery to ensure timely deliveries and minimal downtime.
    • Perform trailer repair such as landing gear, doors, ramps, liftgates, lights etc.
    • Troubleshoot refrigeration units that won’t run.
    • Use TMT/AMS software for repair orders.
    • Communicate and coordinate tasks with Shop lead mechanic and other associates.
    • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
    • CDL A preferred.
    • Experience in trouble shooting and repairs of Power systems, Electrical, Brake, Suspension, Air systems, Drive trains, Clutches, Steering Assemblies, refrigeration systems and all other truck/trailer related components.
    • Possess basic computer skills.
    • Possess effective written and oral communication skills.
    • Experience in fast-paced repair shop environment where multi-tasking is required.
    • Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.
    • Must pass all pre-employment screenings.
    • Provide own hand tools. Annual cash tool allowance.
    • Self-starter with desire to succeed
    • Strong attention to detail and follow through on assigned responsibilities.
    • Possess effective written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as a successful team member.
    • Willing to grow the right person!
    • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
