Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Sound Physicians combines a high-performance model with engaged providers to drive reproducible results across the acute episode of care – through emergency medicine, hospital medicine, critical care, population health, advisory services, and telemedicine.

The Finance Manager - TeleMedicine is a key member of the Finance and Telemedicine teams.  They will work closely with the General Manager, COO, other team members and the VP of Finance to analyze the financial impact and grow Sound’s Telemedicine business.  The individual must be able to create reporting, pricing models and operational tools for this emerging service line while acting as a strategic partner refining and testing business models and pricing.  The individual will own and manage preparing annual budgets, maintaining five year forecasts, analyzing operational and financial results and performing various complex analyses.  In addition, they will need to understand the competitive and industry landscape, how Sound is positioned and be able to partner with TeleMedicine’s leadership in developing the most effective strategy to address customer/market needs.  This is a high visibility position within a high growth early stage business line within Sound which is expected to be a significant growth driver for the organization.  The successful candidate will be drawn to problem solving, is naturally curious with strong analytical abilities, takes initiative, able to understand operational data as well as analyze and clearly communicate financial outcomes, and is comfortable working in a continuously changing and ambiguous environment.  The position reports to the Senior Finance Manager and will work closely with the General Manager and COO of Telemedicine on a day-to-day basis as well as the VP of Finance, CFO and Executive Leadership Team.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and perform complex financial analysis and build financial models
  • Prepare pricing models and analysis for initial pricing and renewals
  • Assess, analyze and report on value based care savings and revenue within TeleSNF and other value based care arrangements
  • Assist with evaluating new business opportunities and develop pricing models with General Manager and COO
  • Create and maintain standardize reporting to support operational and financial analytics; includes aggregation of data from disparate data sources
  • Bridge operational data with financial drivers to understand historical results and forecast future performance
  • Partner with Operating team to cultivate an understanding of key financial drivers
  • Work closely with Accounting and Operations to ensure financials reflect consistency with operational activities and contract terms
  • Complete annual Budget and quarterly Reforecasting with an understanding of key financial and operational drivers
  • Create/maintain service line’s five year financial model
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial operating review and board materials, as needed
  • Develop and maintain executive summaries for leadership that includes operational KPIs, performance vs. budget, trend analysis, etc.
  • Perform monthly research and prepare written analysis of variances of actual performance to budgeted and forecasted performance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of stretch assignments that reflect superior performance in previous roles
  • Adaptive Planning experience preferred

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Education

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or similar field

Preferred: MBA or Master’s degree

 

Experience

5 years of related experience in consulting or investment banking within healthcare
