    VT Group is seeking an Assembler 1-3 in Bremerton, WA to assemble, test, and modify prototype or custom electronic parts, systems, and apparatus to develop assembly methods and techniques for use by production workers by performing the following duties.

    Responsibilities

    • Reads blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly and schematic drawings, and receives verbal instructions regarding work assignment.
    • Aligns and assembles parts such as leads, coils, wires, tabs, and terminals into housing.
    • Routes and laces cables.
    • Installs components and parts such as switches, coils, transformers, relays, transistors, and semiconductor circuits on chassis, circuit boards, panels, and other units.
    • Routes and attaches wires and connectors to form circuitry and connects assembly to power supply sources, switch panels, or junction boxes.
    • Attaches hardware and seals assembly.
    • Examines parts for defects such as pinholes or chips.
    • Test operates unit to locate defects, measure performance, determine need for adjustment, and verify specified operation.
    • Replaces defective components and wiring.
    • Calibrates unit according to specifications.
    • Enters information on production records, logs, and other report forms.
    • Assembles prototype microelectronic units.
    • Repairs defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel

    Qualifications

    Assembler 1

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • One year of work related experience in ship or submarine communications installation work.

    Assembler 2

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Three (3) years of experience, performing fabrication and assembly or repair of electromechanical and electronic assemblies per fabrication/assembly drawings. Experience shall include soldering with low wattage (under 30 watts) soldering devices, assembling cable harnesses, and making high density electrical cable connectors, coaxial connectors and waveguide connectors OR to include performing maintenance, repair, fabrication and precision assembly of mechanical assemblies per fabrication/assembly drawings. This experience must include the use various tools such as drills, soldering guns, and other hand held tools, assembling both large scale and intricate mechanical assemblies and working with blueprints, assembly drawings and sketches.
    • Must have ability to follow assembly drawings and instructions including Cable Running Sheets and to produce product that shows an excellent level of workmanship or have the ability to follow assembly drawings and instructions and to produce product that shows an excellent level of workmanship.

    Assembler 3

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Four (4) years of experience, performing fabrication and assembly or repair of electromechanical and electronic assemblies per fabrication/assembly drawings. Experience shall include soldering with low wattage (under 30 watts) soldering devices, assembling cable harnesses, and making high density electrical cable connectors, coaxial connectors and waveguide connectors OR to include performing maintenance, repair, fabrication and precision assembly of mechanical assemblies per fabrication/assembly drawings.     For all positions:

    • Familiarity with building cable connectors, read blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematic drawing, strongly preferred.
    • Ability to travel CONUS.
    • Ability to work over-time.
    • Ability to work in confined spaces.
    • Active DOD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
